Martin Georgiev

I am a Software Engineer, working on the Security Team at Yelp.

Prior to joining Yelp, I graduated with a PhD in Computer Science (Security) from UT Austin.

My research interests are in the area of Computer and Network Security, Reverse Engineering and Software Engineering. My adviser is Prof. Vitaly Shmatikov.

Outside of work/research, I am interested in motorcycles, photography, reading books, etc. I have a Kawasaki Ninja 250R. Her name is Jay-Lin. She has just turned 27K. I also recently bought a Kawasaki Ninja 650. Her name is Isabella. She is currently at less than 2K. My camera is Nikon D40. I am currently reading: "Crucial Conversations: Tools for Talking When Stakes Are High".

My favorite comics character is Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson. One of his scenes characteristic of Texas is displayed in the right panel of this page.

If you wonder what it is like to be a student at The University of Texas at Austin (considering it as your grad school?), or share any of my interests, feel free to contact me.
